I want to whine a bit...
Warning… There might be a slight case of moaning and whining ahead...
I have been a busy bee these last few weeks,
At the Cloth Castle I have completely redesigned our website as well as our blog and Facebook pages from the ground up, giving them fresh clean makeover as well as updating all the new stock into our online store (talk about data entry).
At home we have been having a constant whirlwind of showings and open-houses, I’ll tell you it takes a lot of energy to keep the house in a continuously clean state and I just want it sold...ughh,
I also have become one of the Vice-Presidents for our local Modern Quilt Guild, have been busy helping that get up and running, and if that wasn't enough to do on top of my normal work scheduled, I have started working out three times a week with my personal trainer, Chantelle or as I jokingly call her the "Princess of Pain", she is amazing and a I highly recommend anyone in the greater Victoria area to check her out , I also took on the job of building her a new site and running her social media marketing... ehh who needs sleep when you have coffee, lovely, lovely coffee…
But all whining aside, I have had almost no time to quilt, but I did get my blocks done for the block of the month challenge at my guild, as well as finishing off my burly badge, YEAH! I also get some work down of a few UFO such as my HST quilt, and my modern spider web quilt Double Yeah!
... I just need to learn how to go without sleep so I can quilt more... I wonder if I can just get a Caffeine IV, that would be a quicker solution than all the coffee I’ve been drinking.... Pictures to follow after my guild meeting!

The Burly Badge
For our MQG we are making name tags so I decided I need to make mine with some custom embroidery... So hence the burly badge. I'm looking forward to see how this turns out. Let me know what you think so far.

Check, check, check... Now were was I...
So in my previous post I listed all of the things I have to get done for the holidays, and I have manage to check a few of them off!
Yeah me!
I finished decorating the house inside and out, completed sewing a few presents, and got some baking in; and lucky me I got to enjoy it all while I watch the snow fall( I'm one of those weird islanders that likes the snow)
So everyone keep up the good work and remember only make stuff for people who you actually like or love and you know that they will apreacheat it, and all the work you put in to it. Otherwise what's the point?
It's quicker and easier to buy those ungrateful little monsters a gift as not everyone deserves a hand made quilt, but hey I just call it like I sees it.
Any-hoo keep on trucking and always have fun or your doing something wrong

Ahhh the Madness...
Well Black Friday is done... and it was mayhem for me.. as a person working in a small retail environment it was tuff, i could not imaging what it was like in those big box stores or electronic shops...ughhh.. just thinking about it gives me the willys. Also i have noticed as the day went on that Christmas music is now on regular radio stations and as the day progress the gaps between the Christmas songs got shorter and shorter..
I guess its official Christmas is coming!!!! and i am no were near ready.... i have shopping, wrapping , sewing, quilting, knitting, baking, cooking, decorating, and so much more. So i am wondering can were postpone Christmas this year, say to like next Easter, yah Easter then maybe i get this list done....sigh

You say what!!!
Happy Halloween!!!!
So I found myself with a customer the other day at my family’s
quilt store who wanted to buy one of our larger quilts we have on display in the
store, and when I kindly pointed out they were not for sale as it is a current
sample, she asked if we could whip her up a new one today.
I said we could make one and explained the cost of the fabric and labour as well as the time involved she thought I was joking and started laughing, but when she realise I was serious said she won’t pay over $100 bucks for the stupid old things as it was for her Mom not her…

Needless to say a lot of different colourful and choice words as well as some entertaining scenarios
started running though my head on how to get rid of this "wonderful" woman , so I politely stated that yes that it would be that expensive, as I made sure to point her in the direction of the nearest Wal-Mart that wouldn’t
tax her “budget” while guilding her to the door… And enter happy dance here...
But I can’t be the only one who feels that way so I took it
to the Internet were I stumble arose one of the blogs I follow “the bitchysticher” (love this lady!!!) who turned me on to “hunters design studio” and the
effort she is putting on out there to educated the uneducated masses in this
world (bless her heart) so check out there blogs, you won’t be disappointed.

looking forward to where it takes me as this blog is going to be my way of
sharing and venting with the universe, you, whoever you are, are more than
welcome to hop on and off this crazy express that i am calling my blog as i see

| Vandy's project |
First off I would like to apologies for that lateness of this post, as I am having some camera trouble, but I was able to get a few picture!(More to follow) So Saturday night was our monthly sewing bee at the Cloth Castle called, Quilt to You Wilt. There was about 15 of us that night but it usually has around 30, after the store closes, we open up the store for the QTYW'ers and they take over! Its a great get together with friends and a chance to tackle that pile of UFO's (Unfinished objects). I tried paint sticks for the first time that night and I was hooked. In the pictures below you can see me and my cowerer Vandy using her new stencils and paint sticks! I used fer tree stencil on a old white shirt and i love the results.
Pictures taken by my friend Miriam the The Rogue Quilter
